The announcement comes after a positive winter 2013 report including 11% increase in visitors arriving through Jackson Hole Airport and a record skier days of 502,000 at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Thought it appropriate to share this delightful flight patterned map as this new addition to the airline lineup now offering 11-city direct flights to Jackson Hole – thrilling news. No horsing around. This is a most ideal property in the heart of Jackson Hole and more specifically, The Westbank’s gem of a neighborhood known as Paintbrush. This custom built home has beautiful craftsmanship and loads of potential for expanding. The open floor plan is suitable for any kind of layout one could envision but the staying power of the property and its views remains this home’s most attractive assets.

Teton Village, WY: Where the Heck is That?!

Where the Heck is Teton Village! Right? Where or what is that place? Isn’t it in Jackson Hole? Isn’t it a resort?  A town?

Teton Village is a proper little town in the heart of the Teton Range and it is home to world-famous Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

Once again, we’ll rely on Rob D to expound a little more on this mysterious place where you ‘don’t even have to get in the car’ because everything you need to have a bad ass time is right out your back door dude!

Wilson Chicken Fry & Art Show: Sizzle On Summer

Some classically fun summer pursuits in downtown Jackson and Wilson this weekend. Nothing says summer in Jackson Hole like the Art Association’s roundup of amazing local art in the center of town, at least not until we’re also talking about fried chicken. You heard right, this weekend you can all at once get your sophisticated art fix and also get down and dirty with the best picnic in town. Tour regional artists booths offering everything from knotty pine furniture and fine oil paintings and then, when you’re done with that, be sure to support your local firehouse and attend the annual Chicken Fry at the confluence of HWY 22 and Teton Village Rd affectionately known as the Stilson lot. In contrast here,  get those fingertips greasy, enjoy a beer in a shady cottonwood grove and top it all off with some homemade pies. Fried chicken is served up by our local firefighters who lure the town in with the simple call: we come to your fire, now come to our fry.

Moose Wilson Road Closure- Not a Moose Jam

Tour Grand Teton National Park…walk suspended over hot pots in Yellowstone…raft the Snake River… and make darn sure you do the following:

Pull over whenever you see a pile-up of cars anywhere in this valley and participate in the time-honored Teton county tradition of starting a good old ‘Moose Jam.’

Once you’ve done this… voila, you’ve had the complete Jackson Hole and National Park vacation experience.

Moose Jams, particularly on the Teton Village Road or the Moose Wilson Road or the intersection of Highway 22 and the Teton Village Road, are at least a thrice-weekly experience. One driver or passer-by spots the ginourmo furry creature and pulls over and shorly after, so does everyone else. Moose Jammers pull over and take to either side of the road with camera out and get really close to the wildlife as Mr. Moose munches on some marshy weeds and basically gawks in amazement. As locals, it’s sorta an amusing pain but who can blame these people. The Moose is an extraordinary and seemingly almost-extinct marvel of the animal world that deserves to be admired just about anywhere you may be lucky enough to spot one.

This summer, enjoy your vacation and a Moose Jam or two. As a friendly reminder: Moose-Wilson Road is closed for maintenance so make sure you plan accordingly.
