Jackson Hole Mountain Resort really throws it back with old marketing pieces. If this doesn’t scream ‘hotdog,’ not sure what does!
When hitting the streets in downtown Jackson Hole, WY what better resource could there be than the ultra-hippster, yet chic Design Sponge bible of blogs breakdown of the best of Jackson from a style perspective.

Design Sponge* city guides chooses the best cities in the US and internationally and focuses on a a well-curated list of cultural, design and entertainment pursuits. Here for the JH Guide, they skip the outdoor recreation aspect of life here and that’s just fine, as is a great reminder that Jackson is a noteworthy mecca for designers, tastemakers and those looking to soak in a distinct culture of celebrating all things fine and beautiful, whether in the natural or creative world.
The list of shops, restaurants and places to stay runs all the way from Gaslight Alley in Downtown Jackson, to the village road and Wilson all the way to the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
Here’s a little taste of the roundup starting with best places to shop via the post from Design Sponge and contributing local blogger The Egg Out West.
MADE – Looking for something truly unique? Check out MADE in Gaslight Alley for a variety of handmade goods. With vintage treasures and repurposed finds, they truly have something for everyone.
Jackson Hole Bootlegger – THE place to buy cowboy boots in Jackson Hole. In the last few seasons the store has started carrying more designer clothing, jewelry, and shoe brands. I can’t walk in there without wanting (or purchasing) a must-have essential for my mountain town wardrobe.
Terra – High-end women’s and children’s boutique with a great selection like Trina Turk, Tibi, and Alice & Olivia.
Altitude – Funky in a good way! Altitude is located right on the town square and has everything from designer brands to home gifts. Their jewelry is always a gift pleaser and they have gorgeous bags too.
New West Knifeworks – These handmade knives are simply gorgeous. Once you buy a NWK knife, you’ll never leave your kitchen. The colorful handles and precise blades make cooking a breeze.
Stio – Headquartered right here in Jackson Hole, Stio is the mountain lifestyle shop the locals prefer. Their jackets are designed and tested right here in the Tetons.
Skinny Skis – A one-stop shop for all of your outdoor gear and clothing. They sell everything from base layers to hydration packs to hiking shoes. Patagonia and Mammut are just a few of my favorite brands they carry. A great selection of energy bites too!
Teton Mountaineering – This is the best place in town to rent camping, climbing, or hiking gear. They also offer a wide selection of tents and backpacks for your next big adventure. Before every big trip, I always buy a new travel book here!
Jackson Hole’s legend Virginia Huidekoper is as good as it gets.
Here’s to being ‘One hundred percent and super gripped.’ We are in the throws of another beautiful Teton summer but today, our homeboys at Teton Gravity Research drop an trailer and a little taste for the 2014-2015 shred season. We were ‘almost’ going to share the trailer here but recognize it will be viewed on every other outlet, so, Instead, we will go to Italy- where a good lions share of lines were skied for ‘Almost Ablaze.’
Italy always delivers good eye candy- throw in a little TGR and…It’s indeed, ablaze.
Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa in Teton Village has always celebrated the mountaineering and alpinist history of the Teton Range. With a brand new and fresh renovation of the lobby and common areas, designers sought out vintage mountain goods to complete the continued celebration of the heritage of the mountain life. This #jhtbt is dedicated to TML’s old, new look.
More photos of the fantastic renovation to come!
